I don’t find it odd that billie joe writes about Amanda. She was a good friend, as well as an old girl friend. There will always be people who make an impact in our lives.. who we feel a connection of some kind with. Thats a beautiful part of friendships. Those experiences make us who we are. As an artist, he writes from the heart.. from experience. I would never want him to censor himself or his experience. That wouldn’t be fair or real. “
